I organised gauge, depth and product imagery across three lancet variants, adapting the information hierarchy to two carton structures.

My role
Packaging layout, variant differentiation and product image preparation
Project scope
Three gauges · carton artwork · product and sequence imagery
Design value
Consistent label positions make the variants comparable while allowing for different carton proportions.
01
Packaging & variants.
The Precision Point family brings 21G, 23G and 28G into one coherent packaging project. Gauge, depth, product illustration and instructions work together across the range.

02
Decisions, shown in the artwork.
Three visually similar devices need to remain recognisable as one range while making gauge and penetration depth distinct. One variant also uses a wider carton face, so the system needs to adapt beyond a colour change.

Make the gauge a repeated cue
The gauge appears in the upper corner tab and again in the lower specification band. This creates a consistent place to look across 21G, 23G and 28G rather than relying on colour alone.
Connect colour to the product illustration
Orange, grey and purple appear in both the device image and the lower accent. The navy identity and geometric motif remain stable, separating family recognition from variant detail.
Keep gauge and depth together
The lower band pairs 21G with 2.2 mm, and 23G and 28G with 1.8 mm. Separate cells carry quantity and reference information so these values do not merge into one undifferentiated line.
One system, three front panel compositions.
Gauge position, title and information band repeat. The wider 28G face redistributes the paragraph and illustration while retaining that hierarchy. Panels are fitted to the comparison frames, not shown at physical scale.

From design to manufacturer handoff.
The family includes separate carton files, illustrated instruction panels and embossing files. Manufacturer coordination therefore involves both the visible variant system and the artwork prepared for each structure.
Two carton structures
21G and 23G use the matching 115 × 90 × 90 mm supplier structure. The 28G source specifies 141 × 79 × 94 mm.
Panel allocation
The main faces carry recognition and specifications; a side panel holds the three step sequence, symbols, barcode and variable data fields.
Variant control
Gauge, depth, device colour and product reference change together. Separate embossing files show an additional production component beyond the printed layout.
A focused next review would reduce the competition between the geometric motif and device outline, then compare all three gauges at actual size and in greyscale. These are proposed clarity checks; no recognition test result is claimed.

Product imagery with a clear reading order.
Different images serve different communication needs: a recognisable product view, a view with the cap in place and a prepared cutaway. Together they show image preparation alongside the packaging and information layout.

A consistent image sequence.
These three existing edited images use the same background, product colour and close framing. The changing hand positions give the series a clear visual progression for product communication.
Three coordinated carton variants across two structures, supported by illustrated information panels and prepared product imagery. Gauge, depth, colour and reference are treated as a connected set.
